When we got back from North Africa, I could barely move. I've always been active, but being there made it difficult to continue that. I did everything I could, but I never was able to keep up the level that I wanted to. When Blake would go for a job with me, I started with running a minute at a time. Even that was difficult, but I set my goals and have been working at them. I said a while ago that I would like to run a marathon, but that's not possible if you can't run a 5K. So, this past Saturday, that's exactly what I did.
I've only run one race before and it was a 5K. I started too fast and I didn't feel good about run-walking it. So, this time I was carely to pace myself. I ran in the first annual Healthy Sooners Fun Run. I really enjoyed it. The weather was great and I did so well! As you can see by the picture, I did it in less than 36 minutes, which was my goal. Actually I ran it in 35:15. I felt really good about how I did. Up next: a 10K!
